GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will allow fleets to transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging at 75 kW.
We had the chance to test the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth over ruts and bumps, while the EV9 is a master of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes that permit "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.

The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
